So here is my delema... a few years ago i bought a wireless mic system from Azden which is the Azden WMS-Pro Series. I has done the job for me and seems to fit my needs i recently purchased the HMC150 and i am looking for a way to adapt the 1/8 inch plug from the mic to the XLR input on the camera. So if anyone can point me toward a cheap solution that is not a full cable and just an adapter that would be great. Here is a link to the mic i have:

Keep in mind that there are impedance issues and level issues between most gear that outputs to 1/8" connectors vs gear that outputs to XLR connectors. Make sure you thoroughly test the audio in ideal conditions before using an adapter like that in the field.

This product is excellent in theory but leaves something to be desired in practice. The unit is wired for use with microphones with stereo-type (tip-ring-sleeve) connectors. The tip and ring are jumpered together inside the VXLR. This essentially prevents its use with a mic with a mono-type (tip-sleeve) connector UNLESS one is willing to CAREFULLY pry each one apart and clip the jumper between the tip and ring. Since this unit is PRESS FIT together, not screwed, this action may destroy the tight friction, rendering it useless.

The above review was the reason why I did not buy this adapter. I bought this one for my Pro88 wireless system: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/87291-REG/Audio_Technica_CP8306_CP8306_Adapter_Cable_for.html It works fine with the Sony V1U.
