1/24 shutter at 24P???

I've been shooting a lot lately at 24p with a 1/24 shutter. I'm not sure why - I think I was in a low-light setting and went to 1/24 shutter and never switched it back. Anyway, I've noticed that a lot of my footage has a slight blur when there's motion. Is that because of the shutter? Should I shoot 1/48 instead?
Thanks!

Yes and Yes.
Slower shutter speeds allow more light at the expense of motion blur. Higher shutter speeds decrease light at the expense of motion getting choppy.
1/48 or Shutter Off (1/50) is standard at 24p.

Yep, the smearing and blur and everything to do with your 1/24 shutter speed. 1/48 is pretty much standard.

Awesome! I thought I was getting dropped frames or something weird. I'll shoot today at 1/24. Thanks for the help.

I also think that 1/24 shutter makes the footage look a lot more videoish.. which is not nice at all..

keep it at 1/48 and it'll look good!
