07Q Firmware v2.10.141

You do know that you have to reregister for the new site, right? Your username is your e-mail. Also, in response to a question, Amber e-mailed me that they will port over existing "Sony registrations" later this week.

it was announced for 10:00 and you were one minute too early.

It's online now but I am missing an instruction guide / manual

I didn't know I would have to re-register because they updated their site. Either way, I just spoke with Amber and she got me up and running.

It's MUCH better - scrubbing works well. Well done CD!

I still find the playlist and location of the various info confusing - just need to get used to it but it's still a bit clunky. Would be nice to be able to drag scroll through the playlist and thumbnails would be amazing if that's possible.

Still - a massive improvement.

120fps RAW 4K test next...

I just ran across one of the Known Bugs: "Occasionally in Playback, when selecting 2K and then 4K RAW clips the preview will become blue & yellow or pixelated. To correct select a different clip, then reselect the original clip."

Basically, I have a drive with a mixture of 2K and 4K content, when jumping between those two specs, the system wigs out a bit. However, unlike the suggested remedy, I've found that the best way to fix the issue is to hit the "Rec/Play" toggle back to record mode, and then once again to go back to the Playback mode. You will be back at the clip you were last looking at, and all pixelation/color issues will be fixed.

Simply toggling clips as CD suggests yielded unreliable results - sometimes worked, sometimes not. How I described above has worked every time so far.

Dumb question (perhaps) but how do I put the firmware on my device? I just get 3 .UPD files and no help read me file.

You format you SSD. Plug it in to you computer. Dump the UNZIPPED folder (all of it) onto the the SSD. Put it in the 7Q. Switch the 7Q on. Press yes when prompted.

Thanks Prendi, I thought that would be the case, but would have been nice to have a read me or some documentation.

Okay playback works now (should have been in initial release)
With new LUT skin is totally red on nearly all previously recorded clips (?)
Faster boot? Not sure but would be a step forward

4K Prores when? No more forum reading and more shooting, thank you!

Can't login to new site, user doesn't exist. New registration using same details says can't register as details already exist. Emailed amber. I'm guessing I'll have to re-register with some variation then have my fs700 codes transferred. We'll see unless anyone else has a non wait on cd method

If the release notes that are meant to be with the dl are not there, can someone with access to the new site see if they are on the dl area of the new site and maybe post it here. The online release notes posted here have some detail, but think more detail was promised in the dl one. (Or I think last time same thing happened, the dl became avail before Mitch had the chance to stick them in there, and the dl was soon updated)

Erm, How am I getting continuous 4k 100fps? Am I missing something here?
The FS700 is not capable of outputting 4K100p continuously. It is too much data to fit through the pipe. So it loads it into an internal memory buffer and then plays it out at a speed it can handle, 50p (for 100p material) or 60p (for 120p material). The memory can store 440 frames of 4K RAW.

This is how the Sony recorder solution works as well.

Just download the firmware and install it. You don't need the activation changeover.
