Has anyone else here watched this documentary? It’s available to stream free on Tubi and a few other platforms.
This is one of those things that’s a bit voyeuristic, and borders on exploitative, but is really hard to turn away from watching and is a bit heart-wrenching in the end. Two friends venture to San Francisco in the late 80s and move into the only place they can afford - some crappy apartment with paper-thin walls. They soon discover that their neighbors, two diametrically opposed roommates, get into daily shouting matches. They start recording the conversations, then start sharing the recordings through underground cassette distribution and turn the tapes into a cult hit.
In 2011, someone made a documentary about the whole thing.
It’s audio vérité, and it is fascinating.
If you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor and take some time soon. Would love to discuss.
