So I've had my 50 1.8 for about 7 months now (which is a great little lens). I've used several L lenses for ENG work but have never invested in one. Would buying into the L series be the best option? So I did a little test to see what you can acheive by adding a Rec.709 to LOG overlay onto some DSLR footage, then adding a LUT in a second adjustment layer. Personally I like how it turned out. The LUT didn't seem as harsh as apposed to slapping a Rec.709 LUT directly onto the footage, almost...

While its only thousands of still images taken individually and put in a sequence, its simply amazing considering the resolution. Filmed with the PhaseOne IQ180
