Hi all!

So I came up with a pretty good plot for a short, silent film, but I'm having a difficult time trying to actually write a "script" (since its a silent film). Here's my question: how does one write a silent film script?

It would look the same as a normal script except with all the dialogue taken out, so all that's left is the "action" of the story. However, to avoid one giant block of text on the page, you should break each 4 line section into its own paragraph. This will also help create a rhythm in your script that you can play with to emphasize certain important moments. The final draft of your script would look something like this,


INT. CLASSROOM - MORNING
We open on a class full of bored college freshman. Roughly
twenty of them sit at their desks, scattered sporadically
throughout the room. Their emotions were seemingly checked in
at the door with their coats.

OUR GUY (18), with a little bit more going on behind the
eyes, looks at the clock. It ticks painfully slow. As it
approaches 9:05 THE PROFESSOR (30’s), energetic and
excitable, bursts through the door.
