I kind of hope so. You can't make a dull camera sharper but you can make a sharp camera duller. I'm often looking at my camera footage and wishing it was sharper across most of my cameras, so am interested to see how the C400 measures up.
I'm using the FX30s and ZV-E10s for studio multi-cam...
I mostly use my R5 for stills but the one time I did shoot and edit footage from it which I mixed with my Amira, it did have a very sharp (4K) and clean look which I rather liked, while the Amira was noisier.
I don't notice that much difference in image quality from the C300 Mark II to Mark III...
"The 4K DCI is oversampled from 8.2K, while the UHD is oversampled from 7.7K. Recording time when shooting 4K DCI or UHD at 120fps is limited to 5 minutes. When shooting 23.98p, 24p, 25p, or 29.98p the recoding limit is 29min 59sec." - Newsshooter
The Newsshooter article mentioned 30 minute record limit in 4K, but then also mentioned they did overheating tests which got far beyond 30 minutes. So, which is it, is there a 30 minute record limit like the original R5 or not?
I want to know what themes, meanings, and symbolism Abe can find from my magnum opus feature film, "Unavailable Light."
This is free on YouTube now but once Netflix buys it you'll need a Netflix subscription to view it.
I use the 17-120 more with the Amira than with the Canon. I use the Canon 18-80 with the Canon C300 more. The 17-120 is also very long which on a short body C300 makes it a bit more difficult to balance, while the Amira can handle the length better in terms of balancing. So, if I was getting...
The RF 17-120 doesn't seem that useful unless you know you'll only ever be shooting on RF cameras, otherwise, stick with the PL version or EF version for the versatility. There are some small advantages to it, but not enough to get a lens that expensive that can only work with very limited...
I just saw the C400 has a USC-C port on the back as well. If that outputs video, then you could have one USB-C port on the front for the LCD and the on the back USB-C port for the Blackmagic viewfinder (if it's compatible). Then you wouldn't have to die to go to heaven.
It would be nice if...
My pros and cons list compared to the C300 Mark III:
Cons:
Lose triple slot record
No DGO so perhaps slightly less dynamic range
Smaller LCD screen.
Mini XLR (this seems to be the future so once my cables have transitioned over (no need for adapters) then this isn’t necessarily a disadvantage...
Well, the Canon C400 got 2, 6, 7, 9, 24, 31, and 51, so, that's 7 out of 52 items I asked for. That's 13.4% success, which means .67 (rounded to one) star out of 5 for my Yelp review.
Pretty much. Plus speedboosters are often known to reduce sharpness and can have other negative image effects.
Now, I wonder if it's possible to have a medium format speedbooster that uses the entire full frame sensor to get an extra stop from full frame along with the medium format look and...
Does anyone know what the dual recording capabilities are? From the articles I've read it is vague on what can be recorded to the SD card slot; I read no RAW, what about 4-6K XF-AVC 10 bit 4:2:2 to the SD card slot at the same time as the CFast Express card slot?
If you can use the Blackmagic EVF, does anyone know if it is possible to use a USB splitter (or if the Blackmagic EVF has a USB output) to be able to use both the Blackmagic EVF and Canon LCD at the same time?
What happened was he found out what Canon's next big lineup of cameras is, and then Canon shot him with a Canon. Now, this is just a Canon rumor, so I wouldn't count this story of Canon canon as canon.
Blackmagic is still pretty far behind the times considering the LSST camera has 3200 megapixels, compared to Blackmagic's mere 140 megapixels.
Here is another upcoming option for a larger sensor lens.

I wonder how good the...
On the C70 when outputting to HDMI, if you change the display so that the boarders are on the image (where the display info surrounds the image), then the HDMI output reduces the size of the image and leaves the black boarders around the outputted image, but without the display info. I'm...
I used the Steadicam Merlin some. I never did like it, had the same issues as Charles. The Glidecam I've used a ton, and still do to this day. Whenever a client wants me to bring a gimbal (which I have RS2 and a Ronin 2), I tell them I prefer Steadicam (Glidecam or my Steadicam Zephyr). I've...
I added 52.
LCD luminance has always been a useful feature for viewing the LCD outside and it works well, the problem is it is easy to forget it is on when back inside and then misjudge exposure based off of the LCD. When luminance is turned on, add a display icon to indicate when Luminance is...
