    Finding Directors to shoot for.

My reel is my reel and that's the work I have to show for better or worse. It is what it is. This isn't a thread about simply how to get hired more and it's not a thread about whether my reel is forgettable or not and it's not a thread about shooting whatever someone pays me to shoot. This...

    Finding Directors to shoot for.

To be honest it's the 'moments' I'm looking for someone to collaborate with on. What I have a passion for isn't something for a showreel to necessarily relay in my opinion. Thanks for your thoughts. I'm not trying to DP Sherlock. I'm trying to find people to tell stories with. I actually...

Thanks for replying and yes that's exactly what I am trying to find. Someone to do good projects with. That sort of makes it all worthwhile. I just don't have those networks at the moment.

I have a vision of you now doing a Crocodile Dundee 'Call that a rig? THIS is a rig!' at me now. In terms of broken down, my Red Scarlet-W, my FS7, then EVA-1 then FX6 all fit absolutely fine in a Peli 1510.

Others better placed than I to know this but surely there's a regular LANC control trigger button for peanuts these days? Does something like this work? http://www.lanparte.com/product/info_45_itemid_366.html I have no idea - Just assumed the camera had a LANC protocol in it somewhere.

With the pouch expanded you can absolutely have it all rigged up and ready to go. Even without the pouch you can have it with the top handle on and monitor/battery/lens attached as I have in the image above. Would be easy to have the mattebox attached as well.

    Finding Directors to shoot for.

Hi all, Been shooting for ages and worked in production for over 2 decades. I never went to film school and never had a ready-made network of peers except for the ones I have amassed over the years who are all kinda Jack of all Trades guys and girls and not outright doc or feature directors...

And the bag is a great success. Expand pouch not needed with mic mount off. Pouch expanded. Interior FX6 with handle and lens and monitor attached. Enough room for full rig baseplate when it arrives. 1 extra lens Atomos Ninja V Mattebox Shoulder rig - Zacuto Shoulder Pad and Handles...

Cool. That 28-135 was crying out for a FF35 sized sensor camera to bring it to life.

Cool. I like the Thinktank stuff. I have a Peli 1510 for broken down transport but wanted something else for fully assembled kit when you don't have time and need to travel light.

I've bitten the bullet and ordered a bag. Gone for the Manfrotto Pro Light Cinematic Backpack Expand - which has a pocket that opens up so you should be able to have the camera assembled with top handle on in there. Looks like more room than the PortaBrace one and it is on sale and in stock at...

Isn't it down to Apple who are irked someone left them to go work for BM. EDIT: No it's BM trying to screw over Atomos after personnel changes from one to the other. Pathetic.

I've been away from Sony raw for a while after vowing to never touch it again, but have they sorted out the allocation of data for the toe of the image these days? The artefacts in shadows used to drive me mad on FS7 raw and I argued with them for ages about their linear raw implementation. If...

Meant to say I have JMOne's 3d Printed mic bits here in bulk that he so very kindly sent me. They screw in and fit lovely - the Rycote bits are backordered but waiting on them. Really does seem a lovely and elegant solution and balance between packing/building speed and small footprint for...

What's it like speedwise? Verification in the other programs I used to use made it unworkable because it slowed down transfers so much on productions. In the end was better to transfer back at home.
