    Kids question again....

Was doing some research and came across "The Champ" and ofcourse ended up seeing that heartbreaking last scene, oh man. This was in '79, and Ricky Schroeder must have been 8-9 when he played that. Would this still be considered possible in today's movies. How do you go about making sure that...

Looking For On-Camera LED Light Diffuser

Make a "half pipe" of 250 or double it....? Wont look pretty but will soften it up without making the light that much bigger.

    Phantom 5 leak...

Well... some of you may already have seen the leaked hand drawings detailing a lot of the upcomming Phantom 5. Now a photo has been leaked, supposedly of the Phantom 5 drone. More or less is only confirms one thing and affirms another. - It looks like the P5 will indeed have interchangable...

    The Practical Lighting Discussion Thread

Well... this looks quite nice: http://erichelmin.com/serious/serious5.jpg In other cases, fx. Prisoners, Deakins would hang an additional or two bulbs about his source, (like the scene in the old house where they are torturing Alex) so it isn't always just the practical. But what camera are...

Does codec or color space matters in live green screen?

But... if you have a chance...please do a test first. If your job is important and the road to succes is determined by the functionality of the gear, then you need to make sure it works before going into the fray. These comments are first and foremost theoretical :o I've had some stupid...

Does codec or color space matters in live green screen?

The bit only affects the tonality of the colors. Mostly something you's notice in the gradation from light to dark or a blue sky from deep blue to light blue. So it could affect the look of you talent and grading options, but shouldnt affect your greenscreen too much

Does codec or color space matters in live green screen?

Sorry.. true... I immediately thought OP was using a FS7 or similar due to the two codecs he mentioned. Which camera are you using OP?

Does codec or color space matters in live green screen?

Well.. what you are seeing is still the camera sensors interpretation of the scene. So yes it matters. 4:2:0 will cause you problems. Not sure about xavc i vs l Edit: a quick read tells me xavc L isnt good for greenscreen. Partly because you are working against a non existing background and...

Simple camera work... turn around gets knocked out

Im in a trees and forests situation... I know I have a reference somewhere but I cant manifest it... Im looking for a specific reference; person sees something in front of him maybe picks it up then begins to turn around just as the 2nd character appears and knocks the first character out cold...

    FS7: Almost done brandfilm...

Just need a few tweaks here and there. I wanna touch the grade up a bit with the Avery Peck way of doing it. But all in all Im pretty happy with the fs7 efforts. All ground shots are fs7. The first shot is as well... the second estblishing shot is a7s ii... as are a few of the most gliding...

    FS7: HG7 & HG8 for Camp fire shots

You make a valid point! xD Here's one of the acutally fire... but we did end up adding to the fire with a Superpanel. The fire alone wouldnt have cut it to be honest the light level was very weak, partly because we didn't have enough room in the car to bring the amount of wood that would have...

    FS7: HG7 & HG8 for Camp fire shots

Heya guys So... read almost all of the Alister and Doug posts about the FS7 and hypergammas. So this is just a "confirm me" post... I'll be shooting a camp fire scene where the fire itself will be the main illumination on the two actors sitting a metre or so away from the fire itself. We will...

FS7: A few grabs from this weekend. With Fujinon MK lenses

So I did a little "helpful" job this sunday for an applicant to the school of dramatic arts. She wrote a monologue piece and we had to do a 6 minute one take. Thankfully the biggest weight rested on the actors shoulders, she did however turn out to be pretty damn amazing and we are currently...

What is the current smallest stabilizer setup for FS7??

Let me start off by disqualifying the Ronin or anything like it... I've used it, and I think it's god awful for hands on operation. I can't contain my envy that the FS5 can balance in a Crane 2 :D but there's nothing similar for the FS7 is there? So where to go from here? Is the FS7 still stuck...

We have already agreed that we will be using my FS7. The light will not be in the shot but be used to light...

FS7: Can you read camerasettings off a file?

Was doing a fun project with the kids and we stopped halfway and didn't really find time to resume till now, but for the love of me I can't remember my damn settings :S Is there any way at all to see what the settings were in a file? I tried looking at the meta in DaVinci, but I can only see...

FS7: Food with 1 hand... magazine concept.

I recently did a series of small films for a Danish consumer magazine called Lime. Their AD created a concept of making food with one hand... because toddlers :) Honestly he actually managed to do it all with one hand... except for the opening and closing of the oven which couldnt be justified...
