Simple camera work... turn around gets knocked out

Im in a trees and forests situation... I know I have a reference somewhere but I cant manifest it...

Im looking for a specific reference; person sees something in front of him maybe picks it up then begins to turn around just as the 2nd character appears and knocks the first character out cold in a pov shot.

Pov here solely being for the shock effect.

I imagine something like a low angle wide lens to cover the second character, then into a cu and halfway through the turn around cut to a cu out of focus of the attacking character and fall sideways with the camera and fade to black.

Can anyone recall a scene like that...?

Not what you’re specifically referencing but Zombieland had a similar scene when they introduced Bill Murray.

I'm not sure which film/scene you're thinking of, but maybe watch a few 'Lifetime' movies for some more inspiration...many of them have these kind of shots, ha.

:D hehe... didn't know about that service. Well, it's not a specific movie, it was more a recollection of having seen a series of shots like that... but I guess, it would almost just be easier to just try to replicate it to see what works; that whole going in and out of pov thing.

If it was me, I'd go simple. I'd have the character in focus and cut to black on impact.

I thought it was Running Man w/ Arnie, I was searching it out because of your post - but I just couldn't find it. There is a scene where it's POV and the guy says "I'll see you in hell" then hits the character (in POV) with the butt of his rifle and it's lights out. Maybe it's Total Recall, either way it was effective, looks painful and it's simple.

On a side note, the best KO sequence I've seen lately that I just loved was the latest Bourne movie trailer only - in the actual movie they don't do it, but you see in the trailer Damon hits him with a crisp left hook and the attention is purely on the the guy falling after being balanced up until the hit - it's really effective, but subtle. I'll probably steal it at some point ;)
The same sequence is at the end only longer so it's better.

anyway, sorry for the side-bar, it's really been irritating me that I couldn't think of the exact sequence and movie I was thinking about with the butt of the gun, sorry!
