Yeah, it would speed up things greatly. I haven't used Vray that much because I found it hard to juggle their render settings :D but I do love their IPR, so snappy.
Recently Maya got updated with Arnold GPU rendering. It's still in beta and has a lot of quirks. But if the scene is only filled...
Wanted to dirty my hands with some sci fi... was sketching for fun while the kids were drawing yesterday and decided to try and model one of them. This came out of it.
Its also now my first render with the 2080ti x trio and Arnold GPU beta. It takes a while to start up but the responsiveness of...
So next up... made this over the course of the last two days. Think my family disapproves of my tunnel vision when I get caught up in these projects.
I really wanted to try and make rough ice and ended up making a damn cocktail situation. Oh well, its good fun! :)
I modelled everything from...
It's been a while since I had time to sit down and dig into rendering and modelling, but the last few nights I had a few bright ideas I wanted to try out. All modelled in Maya from the bottom up based on already made furniture. Textures are a mix of Substances and Poliigon. Simple lighting with...
Made me revisit some of my old stuff... even when coded to proreshq, you still have a very malleable file that doesn't degrade right away. Added 30 midtone detail, but no unsharp masking. Rest is just pushing around colors. Was shot on the 5d3 raw with the 100mm 2.8L macro lens.
The answer will disappoint you, but it's not a resounding "no".
I was just past my best mate who works pretty much the same way I do. They have a Ronin-s for their A7r and it's pretty cool. Of all the single handed gimbals around, this is the one I would get right now if I needed to buy one...
Yeah I agree completely. My biggest challenge right now is to find a "spot" to grow in a more concentrated way. Everything seems interesting and fun :) although I think organic modelling isnt my forte hehe.
But now I also "discovered" photogrammetry, which kind of short cuts my wanting to do...
We were allowed into the production line by the woodworkers making all Wegner furniture in Denmark. We ended up shooting with dual FS7, one mk I and one mk II. Coupled with Fujinon MK lenses and available light and wanting to do a more abstract approach to the story, this is what we ended up with:
Drape the windows further with offwhite fabric across the entire window. Place decoration lights outside to fit your needs.
Light from above, maybe a little in front off, with soft lights, skirted to close down the light hitting the wall behind them.
So in between video and film projects I found time again and passion to try and understand how this world works.
I feel quite drawn towards vfx, but so far Im just playing around with hard surface modelling and so on. Of coursr my models are all too clean and therefore look rendered. But Im...
OP sounds like you overlit it... and light tents tend to flatten everything out so shapes get washed out. We have a pretty simple setup that we use for packshots like that.
For overhead we always use a softbox or hazylight, never hard light (unless ofcourse you want to communicate a specific...
Finally found the time to put together an up to date showreel :)
Based in Denmark, working out of Copenhagen. Owner-op FS7 II and Fujinon MKs, but will work with any camera, anywhere in the solarsystem (The Milkyway can be discussed if transportion is decent...)
Managed to down our drone today... unfortunately in such a way that the gimbal motor got ruined, so need repairs now.
Luckily I had brought the FS7 as well, so I ended up with that on my shoulder for the entire day. Again... I love this camera for what it is and can do. Even with just the stock...
I know I mention this every so often... but Deakins' forum is also a big treassure. Even though his lighting is pretty simple at times, it's the way he uses it and the image it creates. From the vast setups in Blade Runner 2047 to Prisoners... I mean, fx. the bathroom scene where Hugh Jackman...
I wanted to check out those LED lanterns that promise all sorts of things... basically I wanted to know if they could be used as a practical keylight. So I through together a small un-scientific test with out FS7.
I'm no purist... In my opinion, if the light comes from a practical like this, it...
