so I order new batteries for my DVX100A and got them today all excited, however after loading a fresh battery, nothing. Am I missing something here? Is there something I overlooked, the manual says to hold the stop and slow advance to set it, but it still will not work for me. please help

When I import footage from my DVX100a the quality is decreased. My Sony capturing deck shows a good, crisp image but the computer screen is displaying breakage. I have the capture settings at DV PAL and have tried all of the others and the DV PAL looks the best, but shows the same problem...
