    Transporting a gimbal

Yes the cart walk with bare gimbal has plenty of vibrations! I'd see if you can live with a shallower handle set up that fits in the bag. It's also handy closing a bag for possible theft/rain etc.

    Transporting a gimbal

Check post 45, I’ll double check it’s the one I went with but it’s been excellent. It fits an assembled Rs4 pro with camera attached, as long as you turn the pan axis 90 degrees and lock it. It fits a mirrorless on the gimbal too, otherwise, there'll still be a large, usable amount of space...

How to add many clips to play at the same time in resolve

Thanks a lot Chris, I'll revisit this post when as I get closer. I don't think mine will have any keying involved, it'll be video clips placed within the text "walls". Not in terms of actual design, but thematically it'll be like this (password TEST)...

How to add many clips to play at the same time in resolve

I'm happy to test, but I'm sure there are standard workflows for this task just like anything else in post.

Laowa Ranger QC issues? Addressable pre-sales by dealer?

I have a friend who has one who's happy with it but IDK how much luck comes into getting a good copy. If Duclos are wearing any QC issues then that's promising. The issue with some of these products (not Duclos' involvement), even if the repair is good on paper, you could be without the...

How to add many clips to play at the same time in resolve

I'm thinking about some dynamic text design, with the end result being letters that have moving clips inside them. I'll have maybe 20-30 cropped clips to be part of the text. I don't know what the crop will look like, but they'll likely various crops in the form of "strips"/"boxes", or even...

    NAB 2026

S35 a fujinon 19-90 can be rented here for $250 USD/day!! That's cheap enough where you don't even have to mention it for a shoot, so no gear conversation navigation like it would have been in years gone by. The fujinon premista 28-100 for large format goes for closer to $700 USD for example...

    ALEXA: Reidel Acquires ARRI

Lol I shouldn't have downplayed it. It sounds like you're describing an arri product - premium engineering, huge price tag, leveraging sensor expertise! OK so no broadcast lenses for now...

I'm talking about AF for box zoom broadcast lenses. Or like Canon's recent 11-55 or 40-1200mm cine lenses with AF.

Dual channel wireless UHF audio systems - SONY, Deity, RODE...?

Thanks Peter, good heads up about the battery indicator. First look https://www.newsshooter.com/2026/04/20/rodelink-ii-uhf-wireless-system-first-look-nab-2026/

    ALEXA: Reidel Acquires ARRI

Can Arri just start doing large broadcast lenses? Do they just need an autofocus partner? Arri could've been providing lights, cameras, and lenses for events and stadiums. I still think it's strange a capable giant like SONY never made LEDs for the film world. I can't find the thread now, but...

Dual channel wireless UHF audio systems - SONY, Deity, RODE...?

At some point I'd like to buy a dual channel UHF system. For context, the application is monitoring sound/micing talent/documentary subjects while shooting. Taking sound seriously enough to have decent audio considering there's no dedicated sound professional, under no illusions that I'm doing...

    ALEXA: Reidel Acquires ARRI

With Arri being a mix of Arnold and Richter, it's pretty cool that Thomas Riedel just replaces the RI part of the name.

I only said I'd be interested to check out their non-existent fx6 equivalent, but I don't think it will happen. At this point it's likely in their interest to not release a $5-10k camera. They can do the smartphone thing along with the new direction, without showing up and possibly falling short...

It’d be interesting to see what a cheaper Arri with compromises looks like. It might just be a more expensive BM pocket, and likely without the same level of a SONY for sensible, helpful functions like AF. I guess the phone collab will give us a reference for how good the watered down look will be.
