I use free VLC Player. For codec and other file properties (Windows) R-click on screen after opening (whether plays properly or not) >Tools>Codec and the following screen appears for 4K 30p 10-bit:
If it's a typical 8-bit 4:2:0 file, the 8-bit not noted.

Had mine over a month, and only yesterday found this very useful tab with the videocam icon in the right side Fn touch panel, which turns on in video mode: 6 functions, controlled by 2-speed slider - Aperture, SS, Exp. Comp, ISO, mic gain, and power zoom control with a PZ lens.
Particularly...

Jim, I don't know how you shot your GH4, but here are a couple of captures from a ceremony shooting in direct sunlight with good face exposures and no white clipping - either on the white program the first subject is holding flush to the sun, the off-white pants, or the multitude of white...
Not the case, as bright snow/bright sky are exposed to neutral gray value. If you have a histogram in your VF you'll see that the brightest values are very far from the clipping point, giving you dirty gray snow. Below the original capture with histogram displayed in PS.

Shot at Monterey's International Day Parade, in 4:3 4K-Photo mode at high SS to pull stills for my granddaughter's Folklorico dance group. I was impressed with the rendering OOC of Asian, African-American, Hispanic, and Caucasian skin tones on both my calibrated monitor and 55" UHD TV. i've used...
Wow! What a beautiful little gem, some w/ Shogun, intercutting lovely HD96fps upsampled to 4K, great skintones. It all hangs together. And illuminating comments...

One interesting thing I've lately noticed about the GH4 (and GH3) is that with manual aperture adapted lenses - and only in M mode, not S - shutter speeds down to 1/2 sec. are available for effects, as I assume Ben Brown used in his excellent night video test, evident when the cars whizzed by...
