I have only used the Brevis, and I am considering Something Else for my HVX. Do all the 35mm adapters screw into the 82mm threads on the HVX lens? Are there any adapters that have a bayonet mount? (like the Schneider wide angle adapters etc) Or other, sexier solutions?

For a commercial shoot we did, we had a large diffuser frame that we put a few Arri minifloods behind, and together with a couple of dedos this worked great in the large studio. However, the frame was bulky and heavy and a pain to set ut, so I wouldn't want to carry that around with me a lot...
