I loaded in a piece of panasonic ay-dvm83 pq today and ran a test recording before my job. upon playback, i got a choppy image and the warning on the screen that said unrecognizable tape format. I ejected, ran tests on 4 other new pieces, all played back fine. Went back to the original tape...

just recorded a few shows over the weekend and the levels were fine, but on playback the lows came through heavily distorted. I had the alc on but to no avail. Short of a live feed from the board, which worked great, what , if anything can i do in the future.

is it imperative to completely deplete the dvx 100a battery supply prior to recharge. thx

I will be shooting various bands this weekend indoors, and would welcome advice as far as camera settings and audio goes. The audio will be captured professionally, but I may want to use my footage independent of the final edit. any audio video tips for this would be appreciated mm

just wanted to know if anyone could recommend a good steadicam type rig that would assist me in shooting live concerts. I am somewhat budget concious now, so I would like to limit my expense to $300 or so. is it possible to get a decent set up for that little?
