I urgently require a shooter for a one day shoot in the Brisbane area. It's a simple shoot with an interview and B-roll for a Global awards ceremony.
It's not the greatest budget in the world but it is a great project to get involved with.
Send me a PM if you know anyone or want to put...
Can you post a shot you’ve done using one of those outdoors with diffusion? I looked at those lights a while ago but concluded they don’t have enough poke.
In my mind, with COB lights 600watts is the barest of bare minimum if you want to do anything other than blast a hard light on the talent...
I've used both the Nanlite 500 and the Aputure 600 outdoor. The Nanlite is touch cooler than the Aputure. I like both.
This week Aputure released a stripped down 600, which is such great value I've ordered one...
Now that the cameras are shipping I thought I'd start a thread here for us to discuss all things R5C; rigging, power, cables, all other accessories and menu set-up etc.
I picked mine up on Thursday and take it away with me this afternoon for it's first paid job alongside my C500MKII. I've...
I just got my hands on the R5C in a little session with Carl fromProAV and Mehdia from Canon. No doubt in my mind, this little camera is staggeringly good.
I wouldn't expect news guys to carry make-up. It's different in the corporate/brand/marketing world as you are paid to make people look great. On many jobs there will be hair/make-up/wardrobe folk but often there won't be so it's good to have a plan for how to deal with sweaty or shiny talent...
Yep, I carry a fairly large make-up I'd recommend anti-shine cream and some absorbent wipes are a good place to start. I try to do the absolute minimum make-up as possible - you don't want the on-screen talent to start feeling self-conscious.
As we approach awards season I'm told The Power Of The Dog looks set to rake in the gongs so I finally started to watch this slow burn study of toxic masculinity having avoided it until now on the basis it looked like a movie that thinks it is clever but is probably adolescent level navel gazing...
Thanks Rob. You've pretty much nailed my approach to productions where I'm forced to wear too many hats - run around like a headless chicken shoot everything that moves and hope people will think it was all planned. Keeps it entertaining.
It was. Pre-covid almost everything I did was foreign...
