If I bought a laptop hard drive of about 80 gb and build portable ex. hd, would I be able to interface with my dvx100a using a firewire. Would I be able to capture the video on the laptop hard drive and would I need any sort of program to make the cam and hd work? Thanks! :)

Can I use my 60gig ipod w/ firewire as a capture drive when shooting in the field. If so, has anyone Successfully accomplished this feat? Thanks! :)

I looking to buy my first tripod. Any suggestions or direction in making the purchase would be great. Thanks! :)
