    ex. hard drive question

    If I bought a laptop hard drive of about 80 gb and build portable ex. hd, would I be able to interface with my dvx100a using a firewire. Would I be able to capture the video on the laptop hard drive and would I need any sort of program to make the cam and hd work? Thanks! :)
