If I bought a laptop hard drive of about 80 gb and build portable ex. hd, would I be able to interface with my dvx100a using a firewire. Would I be able to capture the video on the laptop hard drive and would I need any sort of program to make the cam and hd work? Thanks!
An ext. firewire harddrive, attached to the DVX, will not be able to capture video. Software is required which means 2 options. 1) Use your laptop to capture or 2) buy a Firestore or nNovia portable DVR device which will record to a harddrive.
