To start with the summary, studio client wants to record upwards of 10 folks. Prior consultant just listed a 16 track mixer along with a zoom f8.
it's a situation i'm still gathering info from all sides to see what the actual need is. In the meantime, looking for recommendation for either...
Looking like i'll be doing product VO, nothing incredible but i'm feeling like a more dedicated mic than my other production mics, something USB (don't gasp) I want to record direct to NLE
Taking amazon reviews with a grain of salt, there's some standout options:

Little cheer for me, my studies paid off and i am now certified to fly commercially.
Today i cut together a reel of some of the hobbyist clips i've been amassing, to garner commercial attention
With the less-than-ideal interview situations i've gone through, i can absolutely imagine the crew dealing with less than ideal setup situations and/or producer/talent demands, and in the end it's unfortunately not at all about what you want/think is visually best, you're working for the client...
Quite excited about this. It was a first attempt and i figured some folks would like it but this is just unexpected...

I'm also quite enthused to see that gif's are now quite a viable means to show timelapses. It doesn't appeal to me to post a 10 second...
To echo what's been said, the floor is very key(pun intended)
For example: did a scene in a studio with a white floor, put a focused liko up overhead to get a sharp circle. Of course, the entire room was exposed because of the white reflecting. Lay down a black cloth, and my intended design...
I just tried the studio pro 45watt bulbs, kill-a-watt pegged them as a grand 29-31watts of actual usage. There really is no way to tell if a bulb is outputting true spec without buying and trying unless there are folks out there who can chime in.
I'm looking for 45-55watt range cfl bulbs...
Look who finally decided to show up...
battery is charging, but the first impression overall isn't what i'd call "$400"
the box stubbornly advertises 4k. and 20mp photos, but right under that specifies 12.4mp sensor.
some initial observations...the LCD came very dirty, and the side panel...

I have this lovely lapse which has a peculiar effect: the sky jumps in exposure/color wildly. Which is strange for a 2 second interval, all settings locked, verified everything is as it should be in editing, but still the effect remains. I honestly don't think the sky was changing quite so much...
Filming hilights for a company retreat this week, was only asked to make a simple recap video, but I went over the top and made them something just.... F'in awesome. Sitting at my perch for the final morning session where its going to be played for the crowd of 300 its intended for

The market is practically flooded with cheap led panels these days, curious to see what everyone has tried, liked, disliked.
The light storm series is getting a lot of attention, and i see many other newcommers, likely just rebrands. I've been debating a set of HR672s for awhile, but heard of...
Just got it in the mail, slapped it on, and boom: no AF. tried changing aperture, the lens goes nutz. ok... tried 3 other lenses, same result. full auto mode, manual mode, same result.
shot emails off to the seller and kipon. hoping for some resolve in time for my 2.5 week overseas trip in 2...
I'm only a few flights in on my phantom 3, and loving every second of it. Being the diligent fellow that i am, i read over the manual several times, looked at all the tutorials, advice, suggestions, etc.. of the phantom/drone community to get my novice flying self ready to fly
In doing so, i...
