So I had my FS700 and 7Q out in the 90º humid heat of the Southern US on Saturday and had an issue. I found that I could only power the O7Q on a Sony 970 battery for about 6 minutes before the low voltage alert would kick in - and that's with hiding the video image on the monitor to reduce...
Has anyone else thought about getting an anti-glare film for their Odyssey 7/7Q?
After using the device for a while, I feel like I don't really need the current screen protector's labeling to know what is what on the unit and would much rather have less reflection off the screen.
I know...
I'm using a Pelican 1400 case. It has the depth needed for both the CD L-Series Battery Plate and the Westside AV hood, with enough space on the side for 2 970 batteries and eventually more SSDs on the side.

Actually, even though the description doesn't mention it, these docks are designed for 2.5" as well. I have a similar one currently that is a one-slot, USB 3.0 dock that works with my CD drive perfectly.
I just want one now that is Thunderbolt 2 and with two-slots.

I have friends who are involved in my local university's mascot program and we got talking about a fun concept for a video. I got brainstorming and I thought it'd be too much fun not to make. So, we put together a quick one-day 6-hour shoot with myself and another volunteer crew member and had...
I use a Glidecam 4000 HD regularly with my work, and it works great with a FS700. Actually, coming from an EX1R, I was able to dramatically reduce the weight of the whole rig as the FS700 in its simplest form is 2-3 lbs lighter.
Learning to balance a Glidecam (or other stabilizer) is just a...
I wanted to post a little word of warning to my fellow FS700 shooters.
Yesterday, while at a shoot, my ND wheel got slightly stuck. As I needed to continue shooting, I jiggled the switch slightly until it got loose. However, when it got loose, the wheel was out of phase and the filters were...
