    Just bought my DVX!

I just bought my DVX from a guy who knew nothing about it and I have only one problem, I can't get it to record time code. On the screen where the TC normally is it says VB 00 00 00 00. It must be a setting that I am missing somewhere, it did not come with a book or anything. Please help me stop...
