If you're taking a head count, I'm in,, LA or Chicago preferably. There once was a "boot camp" thread by Jan C.. This seems to be a similar idea, but by the gurus.

Great idea! I'm in Texas but I would gladly travel to LA or Vegas (please Vegas!) for an HVX class. I'd gladly pay $500 for a class like that. Count me in if this happens.

Cheers,

Hey guys, this sounds realy nice, but as i am coming from europe i wount be able to come over..but do this meeting and let us poor people on the forum know about the highlights!!(Specially the idea with the reps of the editing systems is a nice idea Barry!!)

Anything for the East coast? I'd love to be able to sponsor and help coordinate something here in Florida. Spring break is right around the corner... so lots of good looking scenery. Maybe Orlando or Miami... I also have family in Boston and friends in NYC.

Some of us country bumpkins would really love to get to share in the wealth... you guys have it in LA already... As Dr. Evil would say... throw us a frikin bone here...

If it's just LA or Vegas.. would it be possible to produce a DVD? I'm sure it would be a big hit.. especially if you combined it with the HVX book. I'd be down for paying 150-200 for the DVD and book. I've done this alot with my photography library and have been glad that it's an option...

Thanks all and I think it's a real winner of an idea!

well do LA first.. then in the summer when Barry actually moves over to the east coast im sure we can revist the bootcamp then :) Ive never been to Florida :)

Jared... the invitation stands to come on down to FL. South Beach is always a good time... Scuba diving/ spear fishing/ wake-boarding and all that.

Plus Mickey the Rat has a few things called theme parks. Not sure if they'll catch on, but it's usually a good time point out the English tourists. White legs, black socks and sandles are a usual give away... Plus they sport their soccer shirts to all the most VIP places... I love Soccer HOOLIGANS! btw, I am British so it's okay

you guy's should webcast it for all us unattenders, charge a fee for that too for bandwidth consumption . just a wide shot tied into a couple wireless mic's so we can understand what's going on?

Jarred allready did this, except it's free, and not a one time only webcast...

DVXUSER! (rocks)

..Yeah yeah, I know NAB is a busy time.

that's a really good idea.
videotaping the event to make a condensed 2 or 4 disk dvd for everyone might be good, too.

I'm definitely up for an LA bootcamp with Barry, Evinsky and Jarred. I need help figuring out the best production workflow and learning about all the settings in technical detail. I'd pay at a least $500 for that, a 2 day class would be great. If we can have an actual stage with lighting and grip, so that tests and various setups could be done, I'd pay double. I say let's get moving on this.

I like LA and I know NAB is packed it is packed for me as well. But I think vegas is a good idea since it is kind of more cenraly located. But it is a grate idea. and I do think it would be good to shoot and webcast the event depending on how the event is held. If it is more like a workshop or like a preentainon. That would all depended

We'll do it where it makes sense and where we can coordinate it best. Obviously LV is easy for me until June, LA is easy (Evin and Jarred are both out there) and east-coast will be easier after June. If it's popular we'll do it wherever and whenever it makes sense. But Jarred and I have a habit of making things bigger than asked for, so don't be surprised if we try partnering with dealerships and the equipment vendors and have reps from the other places, and maybe even schedule a "how the HVX holds up on filmout" screening.

One thing I like so far is the idea of setting up and walking through an actual scene, so you guys can see the P2 workflow in action and understand why you'll never, ever, ever, ever, ever want to see a tape again!

Barry, would you also be showcasing 3 party accessories, like focus controls.. 35mm adapters, filtes and all that jazz? Kind of a way to check it all out?

I'm also really interested in info about web-streaming solutions. I really think the 480p footage on the apple HD trailer site looks so good and I don't see much of a reason to do the 720 or 1080... but as I have some heavy web-traffic clients... would be great to see how it's posible to get the best HD for the smallest bandwidth.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing this develop.

I would definately want to sign up for an east coast gig if there was going to be one. Also very willing to bring my HVX. It would be really great to see Apple and Canopus there. I'm struggling with that whole decision right now.
