New York City DVX user meeting

a great party this Friday night Mar 3

a great party this Friday night Mar 3

While we're all watching this thread, I have another event you might be interested in, purely social:

Friday March 3rd
Motor City Bar
Lower East Side (Ludlow & Rivington)
7PM-till you can't stand up

A few music, TV, and film producers/directors will be there, but I can't say who. It's a good chance to have a good time, and meet some cool people.

I'm co-hosting the event and there will be drink specials, DJ all night, prizes. Totally casual, low key and gonna be a blast.

So this is your invite, come one, come all. We've invited over 150 people, and we'll own the bar that night.

P.S. I do want to shoot it, but can't do that AND take care of bidness, so anyone who wants to shoot it for me gets all their drinks paid for (even lushes) and cab fare home unless you live in Albany (sorry Roman). We're talking one 60min tape worth of shooting, then the bar is considered open to you. You'll need to bring your DVX100 and an on-camera light. If you are up for it, please email me (chittle@gmail.com)

That events sounds fun!* I would love to be there but I can't. :(

for more info and RSVPing please go to: http://romanjaquez.com/HowTo.html

reminder for Friday

reminder for Friday

no cover, no fee, no registration required.

this is a totally FREE event. we're giving away a ton of stuff, and there should be a great group of people. the New York Times is supposed to cover it as well, we'll see.

you cannot miss me, I'll be the guy running around like a crazy mofo. I'm wearing a t-shirt from my favorite movie, Roger & Me.

just for this night we had the bar invent a drink called the "Flintini" -- vanilla Stoli and Vernors served in a highball glass. that runs $5 bucks of which $1 goes to charity for underpriviledged kids.

I did get a very kind volunteer to shoot the event for me, so you can leave your DVX at home and just come have a good time.

TGIF on the lower east side!

kickass!

yo yo yo representin' Brooklyn, B.

na wha I sayin?

This is awesome -- we just moved in time for the Friday party and the first NY meeting with the B&H tour and I have a B&H gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket.

I haven't been totally psyched about this move but you guys are changing my tune.

See you tomorrow night (which is my B-day by the way and yes I mention that you so can all buy me drinks :) )

and RSVPing for the 12th now!

EDIT: and I just saw Roman's thing on the 8th -- wow, it's like DVXuser has come to life and sprung up around me!

JACK!!! COoOoOlio, cant wait to meet you tomorrow night. Cheer up man...AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Hey, this is MsManhattan horning in on Aram's post -- Happy Birthday, Jack!

Hell yes DVXuser's come to life. Great to have you here, can't wait to meet ya. Unfortunately I can't make it to Flint's or Roman's events (night-work sucks) but I'll see everybody at the meeting. That said, I think you'll come around on NYC. It grows on most people who aren't in love with it upon their arrival. Besides, now you've got all this DVXuser/filmmaking activity going on....IN the greatest city in the world.....AND all of your fellow DVXusers here to help ease the transition. How much better could it really be? (ok, 75 degrees and sunny....maybe)

I have been shooting this week, so checking these boards had been spotty. I have something in Brooklyn at like 10, but may try to swing by before.
