Yes. It has a reason. To create a background. In 6 minutes you dont have time to tell the whole background story.

In the 20 minute version, the background has a reason.

But i dont understand all tha controversy.

Blade runners starts with
LOS ANGELES. NOVEMBER. 2019.


And it really didn´t matter if the action takes place in NEW YORK, or the month or if they were in 2035 the story would not change.
But i love those small details.
 
I like the Antactica stuff because in some seconds you give us a fantastic information, that in the future people will live there. It´s fantastic to think that those rocks are Antarctica after the ice has melted.
 
I liked it. It put me somewhere quick and with a twist. It told me (or let me think it told me) lots and lots of stuff (ok, I have an overactive imagination) in about three seconds. I found it effective.
 
i think the graphic actually asks the viewer to use their immagination and a strong statement (if it was meant) that this is our world after the ice has melted. if it said "the desert" or nothing at all we could have felt different about the film. im really not sure why it bothered anyone.

My last post in this thread: SIMILO will be on Sci-Fi Fest DVD, with -- I´m not sure if macgregor did any -- audio commentary track or behind-the-scenes? I´m pretty sure A LOT OF PEOPLE will want it to be included.

OR, IF NOT...

Macgregor, do you intend to procuce DVDs of this first SIMILO version with some bonus material?

matt matt matt you should know better than to go with actresses. trouble. stick with PAs they wont **** you over because they always need a job.
