Well done. One of the top two shorts in the fest. A more challenging short than most, but you really rose to those challenges: performances were authentic and interesting, great shots and well edited. A real story. And visually innovative. Congrats.

thanks I'm glad it was entertaining.

I loved the color changes but the style changes from clear to almost cartooned bothered me. It makes it feel like you are missing something you might want to see in the background or something. The cast was well done I thought. Very natural dialog but I hated the amount of Voice ever. Just a tad here and there would have worked better I think. I couldnt hear some of it either. I really liked the skid he did right before he shot her. That edit was tight. The ending failed for me I thought. Maybe if he just sat up and said "oh sh!t, the bullet in her head", and then the line "did I tell you we are fcked" or what ever it was might be a little stronger? Just a thought.
Good job on this dude, I enjoyed it.

im happy you liked it.

and the skid shot haha :-p

Best film I have seen yet. I f#$@in Love it. Very Blade Runner meets Cyber Punk. Seriously cool. Good blood work too

Damn,

I wish you lived by Chicago because I would love to work with you. So far in my book I think your film and editing takes the cake. The character creation was well thought and your actors were solid. Take a look at our peice "the upload" and tell me what you think? Oh and how did you guys do that cool computer screen where the computer screens rotate around that dude.

Spidey,

Great short. Edgy (I hate that word, but using it in relation to your entry redeems it somewhat). I wanted more.

Great script - beginning, middle and end.

Great relationship between actors (love/hate dynamic, all that jazz).

Really, really good.

Thanks for letting us see it.

Now go make more (please).

i just watched your film spidey. i was blown away by it. i really liked it. loved the way it was shot and the editing and the acting. solid all around. one of my favs!

don't worry! It's been part of my life for a while. i dunno if its the age thing or what. and if you saw me in person i look like im 15. So i don't know. But i'm glad you liked it. :)

Probably the age thing for me, and the stuff you post, usually a lot of joking around
(like me sometimes)
- I guess I have to get used to the youngsters whipping me talent-wise.

Like I said - it was a bad assumption on my part.
I just never expected the same guy that gave me the phrase "Butt Water" came out of the gates swinging like that....You've got my respect.
Nice work.

(and by the way - thanks, now you've got my wife saying 'butt water' everytime she sees something crappy on TV - "damn, that show looks like butt water!")

Hahahah

I like your tone, I like the way the VO interplays with the dialogue. I enjoy most Sci-Fi that makes the world feel lived in, taken for granted, a place where regular, sometimes sub-regular, guys live. It becomes about how humans adapt to wild changes, and yet remain just as messed up as ever.

Now and then, the actors had a bit too much "glow" around them, I assume from background replacement, and that damaged the reality you'd established. Also, the V.O. sounded quite tinny and hallow compared to the other dialogue, almost as though it were recorded on a computer desktop microphone. (I mention this because I did that, and it went badly).

My largest critique, however, would be that the movie doesn't establish its dilemna until it's almost over. The actual problem happens, is solved, and then UN-solved, in less than the last third. What happens is great, but it doesn't get fair chance to happen. Too much time is spent on setting up the world, which would be better set up DURING the dilemna. It would be much more exciting to have the two leads fight over an off-color comment about an ex-wife WHILE going to kill the metal hooker to cover up a crime.

Great movie, just needs a little restructuring to make it really compelling. Fun characters. I love seeing a filmmaker having fun onscreen. It's infectious. :)

This would be a really good short bit of a longer 'compilation' movie .. like a 'Heavy Metal' type thing, where you had numerous short stories about the future.

That's the way I see this film fitting in the best.

Spidey, any plans for a longer script? It would interesting to see.

You should seriously re-edit this thing a bit. Just tool around with and see what other places it might go, just to see. You never know what you could come up with.

You could win... what will do with the camera?? (jarred's DVX)

lol i forgot all about the butt water. lol your wife use it alot :-p?

She uses it enough for me to be able to say 'hey, remember the "butt water" guy? You gotta check out his Sci Fi short"

She thought it was cool too.
Now she knows your name - so I think you won't be called "the butt water guy" anymore.

GAh if i won the camera im not sure what i do.

I have an Idea for a longer script but only a treatment.

I will reedit this after a little RnR.

I would like to do a feature film but i'm strapped for cash. :-p.
