I've downloaded most the smaller ones, but my poor little 'net connection can't handle all the larger ones -- I calculated that it'll take two weeks to download everything.
What do you recommend as being worth the download?
I'd rather you randomly download films than have someone offer a subjective opinion that some films are not worth the time to download. Unless everyone wants to go back to the dreaded randomizer, I don't want to see a big spread in how many evaluations each film receives. If you put yourself in the filmmaker's shoes, I think you'll understand my thinking on this.
I sympathize that you want to make sure you get to see all the really good ones, but, hey, you can always get the DVD, right? I'm sure even with limited resoures you'll get to see all the good ones.
I feel your pain, but agree. You should watch them all if possible.
Maybe use a download manager. You can get top speeds possible and if you crank it up at night when sleeping, you could get them all sooner then you think.
Wow, kind of surprised you asked that question, even more surprised you'd think people would recommend some over others ... it'd be CRUSHING to the film makers that were left out, and totally unfair for the intended process.
Besides, from what I can see, all the films are nearly the same size, within a few MB of each other, unless they're WELL below the 6min max.
If you know someone with a faster connection (family member, friend, etc) or can get to a library or internet cafe with broadband, download them and burn them to multiple CDs or DVD.
I'm overseas, and Internet is about 20 cents/meg everywhere. I have a "unlimited" DSL connection at home, but it's capped at 32 mbits -- about 3K a second.
