Sci-fest - The Prizes and Rules

Seandaddy, it's not imperetive to have your name in the list, and that list, I'm pretty sure is WAY out of date with people announcing they've dropped out, others joining in recently, etc.

Best production is in a way recognized by the first place prize, in my opinion. There's also best sound award. Otherwise, I think the awards came as Jarred could find additional sponsors. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a couple last minute awards as well.
 
I know the contest rules says six minutes or less is there any leaniency on this? I am 20 seconds over and have cut all the fat I can. No other cuts can be made without altering the story. Are there any suggestions?

Speed it up by 5%. I may be serious. European folks watch a lot of US films at about 4% "too fast" (running 24p things at 25p) and they don't seem to notice too much.

OR...depending on you film, you may be able to get away with speeding up just certain parts...

I'm surprised they don't notice. Perhaps they just think all americans have higher pitched voices than we do, but I think it affects story.

Now, speeding up a couple scenes might not hurt, though. Just saying that speeding up all 6min would be... interesting.
 
Also, again depending on your film, maybe overlaying the titles and credits, rather than having them as separate clips fore and aft? That'll only work, of course, if the beginning/ending doesn't need to be "pure".
 
Can one person win all the prizes if they have the best overall film. Or will you guys equally distribute the winnings
 
It'd be impossible for them to win ALL the prizes, as that would mean they'd take 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd place. It is possible, however, that they take 1st, as well as best editing, best sound, best camera, etc. Just like the Oscars, except they don't give out awards for 2nd and 3rd place.

The highest will take 1st, then 2nd, then 3rd.........................
