Short Film shot on DVX - Magic Bullet

Hello.
You might want to CHANGE your HTML code as the QT file is really awful to watch as its height/width is set incorrectly:

check it out in your code here:

src="shorts/below.mp4" width="240" height="320

Should probably read:
width="320" height="240

That was interesting. I have to say that you lost me with the dance sequence though. I realize why it was there and that it was not real but it hit me like wtf and then it was back to the movie. Good concept, well executed. When I saw the kid dropping dirt, I was wondering why the hell she didn't scream, though.

Gotta agree a bit with Blaine... I loved the concept and you did a great job, but the dance sequence seemed... out of place.

thanks for the input guys! i can see what you mean about the dance sequence...it woulda made a bit more sense if we didn't have to come in under 7 minutes.

Was some of the music from "28 Days Later"? it sounded alot like it.

Nice film, the dance did throw me off a bit also.

Thanks.
I'm not sure about 28 Days Later...I know there is a GodSpeed You Black Emporer track in there. We are getting the short scored soon so we can screen it more.

Ya know, I kinda wondered that... what part of the story were we missing?

Really loved the shot of the attack outside the elevator, thought that was beautiful. Also loved the whole concept with the fax for the opening title sequence.

Nice work...I love the shot of the elevator descending...also, the intro credits on the fax were great. Yeah, the dance was a little out of left field, but it looked cool!

thanks everyone!

a lot of what we cut was just stuff that added to the tone and pace, but we had to cut out an additional scene of stalking that hinted at it in a darker way and it eased the dance scene in a bit...

I can't explain why but I keep coming back to this. Lose the dance scene. This has an opportunity to be a feature length project. You've got a great (and disturbing) concept. I keep running it over in my mind thinking of how I'd do it as a feature and it has SO MANY things going for it. You've got something here. Work with it. :thumbsup:

Thanks. I love the 48/72 hour contests cause it forces you to come up with stuff that you wouldn't normally get past the writing stage on.

I think Joey has some ideas for it that he might be working into his new screenplay he's working on. What did you have in mind?

wow, this was really cool! I think my favorite shot of the entire short was outside watching the elevator descend with the two characters in it. Very cool concept. Yeah, the dance sequence was a little out there, but with a film like this, you don't need to explain everything. Just take it for what it is. :)

I'm not really sure what I just saw...but I LOVED IT! I think the dance scene was so surreal, but so suiting. I was transfixed. The juxtaposition from the elevator to the playground, to underground was very well done, and the music was so sweet.

As I am writing this, I am already jonesin' to watch it again.
