Boxing film - DVX short clip

the fighting looks good. is it supposed to be a smoker(in house fight) or a card?cause i see their wearing big gloves 14 or 16 oz. and two different colors and makes which wouldn't be the case for a full fight card (a certain number of fights and rounds) and the trainer is on the outside apron which wouldn't be allowed and there's no tape on the red gloves strings which are reyes gloves (which i personally like) but aren't allowed in north american bouts because they have a seam on the outside edge that can cut. i'm sorry i'm such a dick about minor details which most people will not see, your project really looks good:thumbup:

I just noticed this post from you. It's all about the details. Nice pickups

well there's more but i like what he has. i wish i could have helped him out on the boxing aspect of it.

Awesome stuff! Looking forward to seeing the finished piece, and excited to eventually get the DVD! Put me on the list!

justin, that's just a clip that I pulled and dumped some audio on. I didn't synce anything when it cut to the fighter's corner. nice pick up though.

silver, that's how you get good at your shots, by practicing. Jack (jdanstan) inspired me to play with the shutter speed when he was doing his tests over the summer so I'm glad that I inspired you to do the same. very cool.

kimko, I read your original post earlier and got all stummped up. lol, damn. i paid such close attention to everything but let out the glove thing. lol..... anyway, it's more of a regulated underground fighting event that this character is venturing through so the "pro" details wouldn't apply. : ) btw, I wish you could of been there to consult with me through it all. That would of been awesome.

Briceman, you got it brother! Spot #1 reserved for you!

Adam, thanks man... The lighting was handled by my DP, Vitaly Bokser. He's a d!ck on set but a good guy overall.... LOL, just kidding Vitaly, you know I love you man.

HansK, thank you! Like I said earlier, I can't wait to show this off. It's by far my best work yet and I REALLY want to know what people think about the film all together. Most of the shots look great but it's the story that I'm trying to nail.

Thanks man! What mic did I use? hmm, er, uh, well, here's where I feel like a stupid director. lol..... I don't know. I had a sound guy handle that. I usually do my own audio but this time was different. You can visit his site and find his email throught the contact link @ www.bokserfilms.com

I just tried out some different shutter speeds and it looks nice. I was hitting the heavy bag in my apartment. Woo ho.

SilverWolf has gained a level

really nice man... some of the most filmic dvx footage I've seen thus far. The first thing I thought was snatch, great work

Coffee,

I just noticed this thread. I'm pysched that everyone is digging the footage so much. I think it looks phenomenal as well.

It was really cool being on the set that day. The amazing thing is all this stuff was shot near the end of a 12 hour shooting day. For some reason it felt like we kept getting better shots as we got more tired. :)

Chris

What a tease! I am excited to see this footage. Sounds awesome. And if you need boxing help or advice I did it for a little while at Church Street and Gleason's. I've also been watching it for a few years and I'm in the NYC area. And I would love to see this footage that has everyone amazed. I also would like to see what a faster shutter speed does for the image. Gonna try it out and do some tests.
