Hi,
I have several sets of Sennheiser G3 Ew100 (EK100) sets and of course LOTS of AA Eneloop batteries. .
However, as my sound bag has a battery pack of 8 D-Cell (LR20) giving me all day power, I wondered if there were any external power adapters for the Sennheiser G3 receivers?
Not looking to put an external battery pack on the talent, I just wanted to reorganize my sound bag.

The Sennheiser DC2 is what you’re looking for.

Side note: D-cell battery power for your bag seems… expensive and a bit weighty. Have you looked at eSmart batteries?

Thanks but that link says "Due to manufacturer agreements, this item may not be shipped outside the US." :-(
OK... found a UK supplier. Perhaps it is just that the particular disti can't ship out of the US?

Yes the D-Cells are not light, but I have a decent Orca harness and the weight disappears. Also, it gives me 12 hours continuos power running 6 mics and at about the equivalent of 50 cents each It works out cost-effective.

Sony had the good sense to build in a usb port. I use it routinely to power my wireless for long gigs. I'm sure you could buy the Sennheiser one in question from reseller like ebay that will sell outside of the usa.

I don't buy grey market stuff.
As the units are manufactured in Germany I was able to find a major UK reseller https://cvp.com/product/sennheiser_dc-2
I can only assume the US supplier has an agreement to only sell in the USA,

You are right about having a USB port one day "everything" will have a USB port on it. :D
I suppose the G3s were designed before it became a Good Idea.

The new generation of wireless have built in rechargeable lithium. Which is sort of an improvement but in 5+ years when the batteries wear out the unit is no good. Well like are smart phones too. Contributing more waste of our throw away culture.

I don't like that unless you can replace the battery. I have a feeling that the EU are going to mandate all batteries have to be user replaceable.
OTOH a usb port means you can use external power systems

Most of my bag gear is powered by a NP1 batteries, but my AA rechargeable Eneloop Pro batteries run my G-series portable wireless for about 14 hours, so I never bothered spending the $$ on the rather expensive DC2. $80 can buy a lot of,Eneloops and/or the 'Ladda' branded version.
