I put together a DP demo to help generate some work in Maryland. The demo is generated from very low budget gigs, but I thought i would share the clip and get some feeback before I post on my site, thanks in advance. The footage is a mix of HVX200a with Letus Extreme/Nikon Primes, HVX200 with M2 and nikon, HVX200 naked, DVX100a naked, and a Canon 1014-XLS super 8 shot:

Well Chris, that was so absolutely stellar cinematography. I loved the entire thing. Lighting, framing, pacing was great, but i did find myself fast forwarding to bits with a different aesthetic. Maybe it's a simple question of re editing to mix mash stuff around more to make it more visually entertaining. It is a little redundant at times, but regardless, some amazing images man!

Thanks man, I appreciate you making a comment. I think the generally theme is that people are getting board with the music, I keep shortening and shortening it, but the same comment comes up every time, LOL... I may try to mix up the shots differently like you said, one of my friends said the more compelling imagery comes near the end and if the person turns off early they will miss that...

I thought it was perfect. It kept me watching the whole thing and the shots were great! I would have liked to see some small titles in the lower third of what the shots were from, but they jumped around and back to the same thing that it really wouldn't fit. Overall great work Chris! Congrats on a excellent demo reel.

Thanks bro, appreciated... I thing titles might make it hard on the flow of the piece, but certainly more interesting for people from here... I would say 75% are HVX200a with Letus and Nikon primes... Everything in panasonic some HVX200 and some DVX100a, save the super 8 shot. There is some M2 on an HVX200 that is the shots with the red headed actress and the dark haired actor in the office and in the living room where he steps in front of the two naked conte drawings...

Hey Chris, fantastic cinematography really. Super job. The only comment I have on the neg side is the music. Its a really solid choice at first ... its interesting etc. But because the piece is as long as it is I found that by the halfway point I was starting to want it to go somewhere. Instead it just kept itself where it was, didn't advance the visuals further or finally resolve to a finish. Awesome work overall though dude. U got mad skills!

Awesome, thanks for feedback... yeah, I love this song and some people think it totally works, maybe it does, maybe I just need to shorten the work by a minute... just a 2 minute clip of work... I'm definately going to have to look for another song... I just want to show work to get more work, lol, but if people won't watch the whole demo then I'm up the creek without the paddle as they say :(

The song does work ... in fact it works really well, but it gets kinda redundant by the 1/2 way mark which starts to take the wind out of your sails. If you have more of that song that you could edit and switch up where its headed I think you have a winner!

It's redundant the entire way through, it only has slower parts that I have already cut out... I still think it's a cool song otherwise I would not have use it ;)

Very cool, thank you... what was your take on the music... did it begin to become redundant for you? It's interesting, because some people don't feel that way at all, but others do...

Awesome to hear this, thank you... So can I assume the music worked well for you all the way through the piece... One of my friends thinks, I should move, what he call the more compelling images up to the front... I kinda thought they made the video work better by having them as the music peaked... but if people won't watch to the end, that I'm SOL and should have the images at the front... I just did not want the images to taper off like I loaded the end with weak images...

I can see what they mean if you mention it but the visuals are so good it just keeps your thoughts going as you watch it and the music takes a back seat.
