Collections vol.4: Mint in box

Thanks for the reply on the copyright. At least, you did not infringed on the Cantina music in the end by switching it around.

Thomas gave you an excellent performance. I wish him much luck with his career.

It's satire so he can most likely take safe haven under fair use.

As to the music... :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

If you are worried about legal liability I would be very careful making statements about who is and who is not infringing on copyright as you run into restraint of free trade and libel exposures.

Happy Shooting!

Wow...awesome movie. Gotta show this one to my friend who is a major Star Wars fanboy. (He played the cop in 1-Up....I know, shameless plug). Great movie from the opening shot onward. Two actors were great, very natural. Shots and lighting were very well done. Love the shot of her face when she's looking at the collection for the first time. Plus cred for the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. This was enjoyable and I laughed all the way through. Great job! One of my favs.

Wow. This was fantastic. Probably my favorite of the fest.

I felt the pacing was a little slower than it needed to be at times - mainly at the end of the outside scene and the beginning/middle of the couch scene - and I would have liked to have seen more close-ups (I think this would have helped us fall in love with the characters more), but everything else was pretty darn great.

I'm really happy to see a comedy be a contender - and not by virtue of its comedic value alone, but because of its fantastic production quality as well.

Really great stuff! Beautiful work!

I'm almost in tears over the smashed Star Wars memorabilia, and as crazy as this sounds that detracted from my enjoyment of the film for me, because I was shaking my head as he was doing it. "No, no, no, don't, aw man, please God don't, awwwwwww dang, what a shame, that stuff is hard to come by." Instead of really savoring the moments in the movie I felt my heart breaking a bit watching the destruction. I admit I was crushed, I'm a bigger dork than either of these characters by a long shot.

Having given myself a chance to chill out after that, I have to say this is really a solid, professional-looking, and very well acted movie. Great concept and photography, it was really nice to watch something so polished. I'm sure that this one will do very well in the fest.

May the Force be with you.

Well you were breaking wicked awesome toys, but I would have done the same to make the film. I thought it was greenscreened because I did not see this thread. INSANE collection.

You will be in the top 3 for sure.

I can't believe that it took nearly 100 posts before someone said 'May the force be with you'.

In seriousness though, it was just as tough for me to be behind the camera, watching my childhood literally be destroyed and also be communicating with the actors, sound and camera. It was a pretty interesting task.

Also, would you guys be interested in seeing:
a) A continuation of the "collections" series where I explore other weird characters who either also have a giant star wars collection or just a giant collection of other things. Imagine someone at a coffee shop trying to barter for his meal and drink with a Lando in Skiff outfit, trying to convince the waiter it's worth money. Or just humorous shorts based on people who have giant collections

b) a continuation of this character going on dates and them all being hilariously bad in different ways.

c) a series of shorts that tackle childhood issues in humorous ways. Adults doing things that largely children do and having to reconcile this. An example might be fake fighting or fake gun fighting on a playground.

would love any input

I am going to make the sequel to this.

Collections vol.5: My Mint D!ck in a Box!

Sounds more like a documentary... and a very personal one at that.

Additionally, http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/reviews/sxsw-review-splinterheads.php

Filmschool rejects just reviewed the movie my lead actor was in at SXSW. They were very complimentary to him and the film.

The trailer is here. http://vimeo.com/3471601?pg=embed&sec=

congrats to him. He's also doing a final screen test for a network sitcom right now. I wish him luck. Hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of him around.
