Buck, you were right: all shot in Little Five in Atlanta. So far, love the Letus. Pretty straight forward set-up -- heavy, though. Eleven pounds with camera, rails, Letus and Nikkor lens (and no external mic). Shot at 720/24p, CINE-LIKE V setting.
Thomas, looks really great, thanks for sharing. Did you happen to take any stills of the rig/setup? I'm sure we'd love to see them if you got them.
Thanks!
The Letus is not completely silent and vibration free. You can feel a very subtle vibration if you put your hand on the Letus... but it doesn't affect the shot in any way. It also produces a faint hum. I'm using an external shotgun mic... so this isn't an issue. But if you're using the on-camera mic, you'd want to set up the unit so the lens sits low (as opposed to high, as seen in the photo I posted of my camera). This provides the maximum separation between the Letus and the on-camera mic.
Really nice cinematic looking stuff through most of it. Seems like the spots that are a bit over-exposed kind of loose the cinematic look and looks more video like and more stock lens. Is this somethign you've noticed too? That dialing in your exposure delivers more desirable results?
Looks like a really solid image though.. Not really too soft and how much light does it use? On this gig a couple of weeks back.... they brought out the original redrock and some slow Nikons lenses and it was useless...
