Getting better sound out of my ntg2?

The reason i got the ntg 2 mic was so I could get more professional sounding audio.

Every time i record with my A1 i get this obnoxious hum....

Is their a setting i should be using to get rid of this and make my audio sound crisp and professional?

You need to check whether you're on battery power or phantom power. Take out the battery if you're on phantom.

There's a lot more to using a mic than just plugging it in. I've never used an NTG2, so I can't tell you how to set up the camera, but there are often different settings for different situations. Such as if you have one mic plugged in vs 2 mics, or different settings based on the impedance rate of the mic. Just play around until you get good results.

Yeah i know that and i've been reading the manual for a while and still sounds crappy. What settings do you guys use?
