the first batches were from my lossfest entry until I re-conceptualized. now, only the last series is from the " model/photographer " short. even so, there are more i'd like to share but some of those would blow the final moments of the film.

UPDATE: Jamie (editor) is revisiting one scene this morning then we will likely have picture lock. I've sent a quicktime to DEKLUN to compose music to via drop.io..

We were talking about the shoot and I totaled up the combined shooting time to about 7 hours. two hours on thursday night with john to do some driving scenes, and 5 hours of shooting friday night with both mary elise and john.

just realized I'll be at SXSW when viewing opens up for LossFest. may not be able to participate in the viewing and feedback to the degree i wanted. unless I just stay up late in my hotel room each night. which is a possibility.
 
Wow Zak I really am digging the color palette from these shots at the top of the building. Almost reminds me of the ocean. Really like the bits of green over John's shoulder in the banner.
 
Picture lock!!! running time is 5:58. we had to cut about 9 seconds from our actual, final cut to make the 6 minute limit but we'll add those back in for subsequent releases. much better than the 3 minutes i had to lose from IFHY. Music we used in the cut was temp. Now awaiting the musical stylings of DEKLUN and I should have those this weekend.

and on a side note. when I look at this thing, although it is intended to exist completely separate form the feature, it would make an interesting opener to it too. I may be speaking too soon and my editor probably has different ideas for how to open Eloquent Graffiti, but I may repurpose this as a pre-title intro to EG. i don't know. it definitely poses a ton of questions to the viewer about the characters they're watching. definitely more questions than answers. :)

And admittedly, we're looking to LossFest for feedback on the content of this short to see what kind of reaction viewers have to it, the questions they have about the characters and how those questions may be addressed in the feature that follows.

WOW! Crazy 3 months on my end... I had to back out of this festival. So I totally unplugged from the forum for a bit. Its awesome to pop back in and find such a cool ass project just waiting to be hatched on the masses. The podcasts are killer, the grabs look great, I am totally intrigued about the story... kick ass guys... looking foreward to the film!

got the music back from DEKLUN and Jamie cut it in so we only have color left to do this weekend. are we allowed to share music here before screening opens up?
