how to use hvx to download p2 cards into macbook pro

i did a quick search and was unable to find this procedure. i'm sure there are thousands of posts related to this issue. please point me in the right direction. i do not have a dual adaptor, so i'm using my camera to download the cards into f.c.p. on a macbook pro. how do i properly set this up?
 
There two pretty specific pages on this in the manual at p. 82.

Shows you exactly what to do for firewire or usb2
