First shoot out with the HMC

Some sample shots from a recent shoot. Some slow motion and what not. It was my first time out with the new HMC-150 so any constructive criticism would be much appreciated. Shot 720 at 24p and 60p, 50mm 1.4, CINE-V, used one 500 watt lowel omni light as a fill (which did very little) on the first shot the rest are available light + silver side of a 5-in-1 as a bounce. The footage has been color-corrected.

Like i said in my vimeo descript i wish i had shot with CINE-D instead. Most of the color correction i did was to bring back a little detail in the low to mid range. Its much better to get that info in the cam during production and crush the blacks, etc in post if you want/need to. But if you shoot too contrasty in production then you get grain when you try to correct in post. I just thought the LCD was what was making It looked contrasty. I need to get better at reading the waveform. Anyways enjoy:

I can't offer any criticism..
I like what you did there.
Very sharp and the way you used sunlight.

You cut on Vegas don't you?

Thanks.

Actually i cut this in After effects. Its a new computer and i haven't bought any software for it yet (will probably get the Adobe Production Bundle mainly for After Effect and Photoshop, and FCP 6 for cutting) I am using the 30 day demos for now and the demo for Premier Pro doesn't support AVCHD at all.

looks really good, still debating on whether or not to get this camera. After all the amazing footage i am seeing being produced i might have to go ahead and make the jump.

RMJones,

How did you get your 720/24p footage into iMovie? I have the 08 and 09 versions and neither will recognize the 24p footage. Excellent footage by the way...

Thanks,

Richard

looks really good:thumbup:

what lens did you use? just curious because i'm still trying to figure out which route i want to go.

Wow! Amazing.
If you had said you shot it in film, I would have believed it no questions asked.
The last shot is simply beautiful.
