Can the HPX do this?

You only need to watch the first 40 seconds.
the 30 to 40 sec part in particular.

the way they've put the singer in near slow motion while the background is time lapsing is amazing. I first thought green screen, but then I saw they had people in the foreground "time lapsing" as well.
Anyone ever tried this?

Other parts also had people in the foreground and background timelapsing (watch 1:29) while the singer is "caught up" in the middle.

Definitely green screened. Done very well of course, but there are a couple where you can tell the moving in and perspectives of different layers aren't synced up perfectly.

It's all about layers. All good visual effects are built up over layers upon layers. Just like sound.

Could be motion control... Done it in ads a million times - ok maybe 20 times.

It's pretty funny that you think that a particular camera can do this. Any camera can do this because the magic of the shot is all of the post, nothing to do with the camera. Any camera that can shoot clean green screen can do this.

You might want to do some reseach on advanced compositing, there are some good training guides on learning all of this. I leave it to the experts, it takes a different mindset to be a great compositer, definitely not my thing.

The beauty of this effect is how clean and seemless the slow-mo is against the time-lapse. It's all good compositing, of course, but they still needed to have shot this on a camera capable of both time-lapse and slow-motion. Very few prosumer cameras can do this as good as the hpx.
