Original factory White balance ?

......if there is such a thing.
Does anybody know what the HMC 150 or HPX 170 were originally white balanced on ? Ive reset my camera but I think the colors are a bit off from what they originally were when I used the factory default settings.

why would you use the factory default settings? the point of manual controls and scene files are that you can tweak the image to how you like.

thats true , but I did like how one of the scenefiles looked like the first time I got it.

Weather conditons here are different and most likely effects the colors the camera produces.

I just want to know if I could replicate the colors that I got out of the box with the standard scenefile settings.

Just wondering :)

If you use the default 3200K or 5600K on both cameras with similar scene files, you may try to tweek the white balance with the Color Phase setting.

I'll also have to try to match both cameras because I will also have to film with both. I did that when I used both DVX100 and DVX100b.

I kind of have a similar question.

I hear the camera has a 3200 & 5600K default setting. I guess that is what the A & B were from the factory when in manual and the ATW is not on.

But once you use the MWB, it seems the A & B WB values are written over.

1. So where are the 3200 & 5600K defaults then? (although I don't think you would ever want to use them, unless it was just luck they were correct for the shot).

2. Also, can you manually set the WB to a value you want? The ATW is usually too warm and the MWB button usually goes a little too cool/blue.

I would like to add that the WB does actually work out really well, Im just very picky about correct color and have shot under some difficult tent lights recently. When WB is good, HMC-150 colors are awesome.

I hope I didnt confuse anybody with this thread cause I know I am after reading it again.
But basicly what I wanted to know was when the camera was manufactured they must have WB this camera on some card or maybe just a plain sheet of paper. I was just hoping if anybody here knew which ones they used or what they used to WB the camera
Im not having troubles with mine I just know it looks different that what it used to be .

The 3200 and 5600 k or on the prst knob . prst is preset
They are not overwritten .
Once u set WB to prst on the camera you then push the AWB button to choose between 3200 & 5600 K preset.

Thanks.

Duh, done that plenty of times without even knowing. I kinda consider that the ATW position since I either ATW or MWB.
