I-Movie 24p Trick?

Sorry if this has come up before but I gotta ask. I was just checking because so far I can't see a problem with this but is there any reason I can't just make a copy of my 24p footage to a mini dv recording at it's normal speed? It's just for simple edits and this of course allows me to dump the 24p footage I shoot into I-movie or final cut express when I would normally not be able to. I know it's a cheap way out for people who don't have Final Cut or whatever and it probably has some visual consequences but thats why I thought I would ask a much wiser group of people then I before I get comfortable doing it. Like I said before it seems to look okay but maybe I'm missing something?

You can cut 24pA on anything that captures and supports NTSC, too.

It just might look slightly more stroby when there's a lot of motion. Then again, it might not.
