HPX500 almost destroyed by maniac

You could out-perform him?

Cedric can hit higher octaves than Mariah Carey, i'd love to see you diddle with your "video gear" to 'out-perform' him.

You guys just need to calm down and go film a sunset or something. Whether you like their music or not, he's a performer and he was just having fun on stage. He wasn't going to smash your camera, he was just poo pooing with you.

Being a Voice Minor and singing Opera Music, I do think I could out perform him.

If he was just poo pooing with Guy he would've asked permission before hand like normal performers do!

And we don't just film sunsets... we film art bud!

It's amazing how much money you can make in the music business without any talent, I guess if you filled a movie theater up with people on acid you could show them anything and they'd like it and go crazy. Still pics, sure, grass growing ok I'll make it marajana, sure man, rainbows, dude!

funkesp.... You should check out the guidelines before you post again... If you want to stick around that is... You have 4 posts, all of them right here, and starting off with insults to the members ain't exactly the way to stick around.

Later,
Jason

Hey Xianchi! - Yup, that was me shooting - I'm using the exact same Miller Sticks and head that you bought from us for your HPX!

That just might be the best avatar I've ever seen!

I hate that excuse for a band. If he would of tried to get his hands on my gear I would be in jail right now.

You're a badass, guy!

Seriously man,
Camera vs. Music aside, there's one broad area of this you're not grasping. That's a VERY expensive camera... somewhere around 15-20k invested to get that rig there to film them, and it wasn't some company's gear. So if you wanna walk around with something that expensive and let people grab it and have seizures around it constantly (not knocking epileptics here, just Cedric from the Volta) then be our guest. But don't knock people for wanting to protect large investments, hobbies, means to make their money, etc. There's not one piece of gear on that stage worth a quarter of what that camera costs. Not the amp heads, drum kit, bass rig, guitars or anything (shy of the venue's PA gear).
And as a video guy who performs live music as well, I understand getting into the moment... but it's just bad form on his part to do this. (and great form on Guy's part to let him know it wouldn't work by showing the fist!)

I'm also a musician, was pro in the seventies. Now, just having fun. I love my video and photography. When you're young, you do foolish things. I did my part. But, I never harmed anyone. About in 1979, I went to see a friend in a band. He was having an argument with the drummer. The drummer lost it and threw a cymbal at my friend. He ducked, and the symbol sliced into the guitar player's cheek, opening up a 5 inch gash. The doctor said he was lucky, it could have sliced into his throat.

This Cedric guy is an a**hole. I know nothing about him ( I'm a jazz player), but as soon as he severely hurts someone, maybe he'll learn a lesson. There's no excuse for throwing a cymbal, etc. into a crowd. He must have an IQ of 25.

I love my HPX500. Thank God, I don't have to shoot idiots like this.

I apologize.

I thought it was rental equipment (in which case, if damaged would have been payed for by the band) and not the guy's personal camera.

No harm, no foul. It takes a big man to apologize, and I'm sure everyone in here will be happy to read your last post. Thanks,
-Jesse
