not just for Final Cut Pro but for all editing if you like. However, first my question. :)

i shot at hdv60i
opened my FCP and set the easy setup to hdv-1080i60 firewire basic

and whats getting to me is. theres no playback on the cameras LCD. when i "print to video," then i see the playback. but never on the LCD while im editing. am i on the rite setting? is there something i have to do on the camera?

fcp5.1.4
apple g4

where you want to go into is View>Video Playback>then firewire out (make sure you camera was on and connected when you started FCP)

Then View>External Video>All Frames

now, in theory, that should be that, but in actuality i find i need to sometimes restart FCP, sometimes try a few times in different order, but eventually it works.

OH, the camera has to be set for HDV/DV in and be in RECORD PAUSE (hit record and hit pause)..... its really not convenient, I know.

good luck

when i play the footage in the timeline, it gets blurry. but when i stop it clears up. this wont be the look when i export it will it? on the timeline, the render status shows 2 grey lines, not green.

footage is still blurry. i never got a response so im trying again. its only on the playback. im using fcp 6. easy set is 1080p24. the footage on the xha1 was captured 24f. is this nothing to worry about, thats how it is? or can it be corrected?
