16GB P2 not mounting on Powerbook 550

Hi.

I'm unable to mount the 16GB P2 card on my old Powerbook 550.
I have installed the latest P2 Card driver version 1.33 from Panasonic.
Reckoned my PowerBook PCMCIA slot is dead? I have never inserted any card in this slot before until today.

any help is much appreciated.

Yes. I installed the version 1.33 from panasonic.
I will try to borrow another powerbook to troubleshoot.
