The Greatest Miracle

it's the Santa Maria Parish in Orenda CA, and it is a beautiful church, with really great people alowed me in there for 6 days to shoot, and trusted me to lock the place up at night. I'm thankful I lived up to there trust and we were able to clean the Church so it was cleaner than when we arrived each time.
 
well we've wrapped primary photography still need some cutaways, and audio, I have my thesis review on thursday so I've taken time off from Miracle and am finishing up some vfx shots on Burn it Down, I think I'll start a Burn thread soon

Wow! Okay. I can't figure out how you did this. The car was blue screened or still shoot. And what did you use for the bullet flares, those were pretty good?

the car is 3d, textured and shaded with renderman, the explosion and smoke are maya fluids . the guy in front of the car is green screen.
 
oh yea the dust and sparks, I made with maya particles. the muzzel flashes were fxhome particles, altered a lot in shake, everything was comped in shake. I really hate apple for killing shake, am learning nuke though.
 
By the way, I just saw your DP reel. That was hot over played over GNR's November Rain. Great choice in song.

thanks Nathyn, although since ten Youtube has made me switch music, I using some modern rock song I think by a group called creed, sounds very smallvillish but it was either that or pull it.
 
I love Creed! "One Last Breath" is one of my favs. A friend bought this for my birthday when it came out. The video for that song is right up your alley. It's almost all VF/X. The Creed song fits better actually. And dude that little Asian girl is such a cutie. But why would they let you do Creed and not GNR? I don't get it. And is there a song that plays all the way out to the end? You may want to fade into another song then fade out at the end or find a longer song.

youtube has deals with some artiests, not the add on the page. they also have an audio replace where it will replace the audio for you.
 
after Thursday, my last class I'm going to start editing Miracle, I'll be posting password required cuts on Vimeo for editing opinions form a few on dvxuser. Nathyn, I'm hoping you and Brandon will be willing to look at the cuts as I cut them.

I'm also hoping Huy and Alan will also be willing.
 
Jason, my last final wraps up Monday so I'm down to give input. Alan told me that he's taking off for China for about a month unfortunately.
 
he's going to China? thats so cool. always wanted to go there. its a 20 minute film, i may not have my first draft up until he gets back lol

I'll be heading to the Fresno area to return Gary Sconce's hypercam. He's a really great guy, and I'm thankful to him for loaning it to me. it is like no other steadie cam I've used. it tucks into the body for extra stability, and the bull horn is nice for control
