Which would you buy HV30, HF10, HF100 or a Panasonic cam?

Just want the get peoples feedback on which camera they would prefer. Looking to get one for my girl for christams and no doubt I will steal it away and go shooting with it =)

I already have an XH-A1 and HVX 200a so this is just a fun little cam to play with. Which one has the best features? Do they all have manual focus, or exposure controls? I like the fact that the HF10 is tapeless but the images I see the HV30 making seem to beat it out. Could be the 17mb AVC codec. Does final cut support AVCHD yet? What do you think?

I have an Hv20 and it's a great camera. it has manual focus and exposure control, but of course they are not as accessible as they are on my xha1. I personally prefer tape to tapeless, but it really depends what she's going to be doing with the camera. If she's going to be editing footage at all i'd go with the HV30

Ya, I heard there were some issues using the AVCHD in most editing software, somthing about having the pull out the 24p out of the 60i signal. I guess its not as easy as HDV. I'm leaning to the HV30 but I really want to have something that is tapless..... anybody know why theres not a cam that supports HDV to flash cards?

If you choose the hv30 I just saw them on amazon.com for $589.00, I thought that was a bargain, I am going to buy 5 or 6 for an upcoming project.

Sony makes a higher end camera the Z7 that records hdv to CF cards but it's $5k nothing in your price range as of yet.

you dont have to pull the 24p out of the 60i stream unless you're recording to tape, since tape requires a constant data stream and all.
