Howdy,
I've posted a trailer for Cigarette Girl, we're hoping it to stand on its own as feature movie but it may go the webisode route as well. Please check it out, critiques and kudos are welcome. Oh yeah, for those sensitive to 'bad' language or blood hits, there is a little bit of that here.
Anyways, Cigarette Girl now has a website: http://cigarettegirlmovie.com/
This was shot mostly handheld on a DVX100B with an SGpro 35mm lens adapter. Canon FD lenses used: 28mm/f2.8, 50mm/f1.8, 70-210mm/f4-5.6.
These images are not intended as the final look in the movie. To showcase these images, I did perform a 'one light' color curves adjustment and also some minimal sharpening since I had reduced the cameras internal sharpening for potential upressing.
Some shots used natural/location light others used one or two 500w nook lights and sometimes a 1k. Minimal gels/diffusion was used since we were going for a stark noir-ish look when possible.

UPDATES:
Thank you so much for the positive comments everybody!
Anyways, just about finished with all the editing and sound work for Cigarette Girl. Originally this was only intended as a short webisode series, but after the initial edit late last year, our running time ended up being over 70 minutes, we decided to just go the feature route with intentions of elaborating on some backstory, missing cutaways and reshooting stuff that didn't cut well or just looked crappy.
Second unit camera, Chuck Scott, shot a couple things around New Years, then I shot a ton more stuff in February. Unfortunately, the February shoot we didn't have access to the DVX100B cameras as before, so we used my DVX100A and a borrowed DVX100. And I'll tell you the grain is SO much more evident. I suppose if I would have 'overlit' some of the interior shots, especially the darker scenes, I think I would have avoided that problem. Lesson learned. I was able to fix some of it with color correction, but sometimes not, SO, it is what it is. I've included some color corrected images from the February footage.
Also worth noting, we had a Letus (original model) with a flip unit on the DVX100; any footage with extreme brights, would blow out in a very unelegant manner so more care needed to be considered when using that camera. In my opinion, this one of the SG's major strengths in how it handles that.
And will have a world premiere in Perth Australia's Revelation Film Festival on July 10th, 2009.
AUGUST '09 UPDATE:
Hey there here is a brand new trailer for this movie with original music from Jonathan Kirkscey who had also scored the whole feature.
