A1 and Pelican 1510

I am looking for a rugged bag for my Canon A1, and DSLR (with 3 lenses) and various accessories and was wondering if this would all fit inside the Pelican 1510 (Carryon one) using the dividers and not the foam?

if not, does anyone else have a recommended bag that will hold both types of camera in one bag, that is still small enough for a carry on?

Thanks!

I use a DaKine Reload bag. Its just a TAD bit over dimensions on one side but should be able to get it on the plane.

I also have the Pelican 1510, with the foam, I could fit the A1 and my 5d with a few lenses. Shouldn't be an issue with dividers.

If you just want the XHA1, 5d (w/o a lens attached), and 3 lenses in there it'll fit. But if you want to have the A1 charger, cables, extra tapes, batteries, microphone etc. It won't fit. The 1510 is the largest Pelican you can carry on, but it won't fit in all plane overhead bins. Then you have to check it at the plane. And if that happens, expect your pelican to come back with several deep scratches.

I got the 1510 yesterday with the dividers and I am having a hard time figuring out how to get this camera in there. It's too tall and when layed on its side, it takes up the whole case and it seems that pressure on the mic could make it break off.

Does anyone have photos or recommendations on how to get in there?

lesson learned to not depend on what people say on the internet. I've also been very wary of this case after comparing its dimensions to my calumet roller...

XHA1 + 5D + 3 lenses? yeah...

The 1510 is a cute and all, but I would swear my normal carry on bag is usually just a bit bigger.

I basically wish I had the 1510 with two more inches of height. Is there another bag similar to a Pelican which is still carry on friendly but can actually hold the A1 without having to take up a majority of the bag?

If you can't fit your camera, 5d, and 3 lenses, you either must suck at tetris or have some HUGE lenses.

I can fit my XH-A1 lying down, with the back at the edge of the case. I can fit a 5d lens-less at the front of the XH-A1 lens and have maybe 2 primes facing down and have a long telephoto (70-200) laid out above it.
