sorry if I'm thread jacking, i've been contemplating between this & the rycote s-series but there seems precious little info or at least real world feedback on how each deals with strong winds, I've already got a softie but need something that can handle more. Could someone let us know how this does in strong winds once you've had a chance to test them. Thanks
 
Got my RODE Blimp, yes it'll fit a 416, etc.... It is a Beautiful Blimp!!!!!! really nice build & finish quality & there's the fabric lining inside to kill air mass movement, no foam!!!! they built this the right way ..... I love it!

It comes with the furry, dead kitty or dead wombat for those down under. This is a great deal.

I got mine, and it was shipped to Canada! Guy was a huge help in sorting that out (calming my cross-border fears, mostly) over private messages here on DVXuser. He shipped it fast, packed it well, and it went through USPS which avoided all brokerage fees and other stuff that UPS usually charges cross-border.

Add to that the fact that I saved at least $175 over buying in Canada, and before any dealers here have it in stock, and I am all-round thrilled with the DVeStore. I got the free T-shirt, too.

As for the product, I'm quite impressed. I used to use a Sennheiser blimp, and this functions at least as well as I remember.
It seems a bit heavier, but the much nicer look and feel of the handle design is where the weight probably is. It's nicer to hand-hold, and looks more professional.

Just like the NTG-1 and NTG-2, RODE have once again designed a product that matches or outperforms equipment costing three times more from other companies!

Also bought a rode blimp from DVeStore, and even liked the tshirt :)
I almost got the Rycote S-series... but i'm glad I didn't, and now have a full system ^^
 
Quick question - does the Rode just come in one size? I may be looking for a blimp for a Senn. 816 and was wondering if they have a long gun version.
